Job Description
Provide day-to-day support and administration of MoDOT’s infrastructure, including automation of processes, patch and software deployments, device tracking, hardware and software reporting, remediation, and maintenance of device collections within SCCM.
Analyze the current health of hardware and software platforms in MoDOT’s environment and provide best practices recommendations on configuration, versions, and security implementations.
Offer on-premise support for the current environment and new integration requests.
Administer changes and implementations based on analysis, project needs, troubleshooting, and daily operations.
Develop and provide patch compliance for servers and end-user devices.
Create customized reports based on SCCM data using tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services.
Provide expertise in SCCM and automation of manual processes, including guidance on best practices, research into options, and professional presentations.
Cross-train staff on automation tasks, reports, and new software packages.
Create and update documentation for all key systems and processes impacted by automation, including fixes, enhancements, and new functionality.
Transfer key knowledge to staff in areas of automation, scripting, patching, and reporting for all environments and administration.
Perform minor system improvements under $3,000, with historical averages of six improvements per year.
Deliver status reports detailing tasks completed, issue resolutions, knowledge transfer, and documentation updates.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly system health checks and provide documentation updates reflecting fixes or enhancements.
Provide structural and design recommendations for new systems as they are created.
Ensure effective oral and written communication with MoDOT staff.
Provide instruction to staff regarding changes or new functionality.
Deliver minor system enhancements with estimates and required documentation as directed by MoDOT representatives.
Minimum Skill Sets
5+ years of PowerShell administration experience.
Working knowledge of application code.
9+ years of experience in a large Microsoft Windows environment.
Detailed technical knowledge of the Windows operating system and Active Directory.
Strong knowledge of application packaging and deployment using programs and advertisements.
In-depth knowledge of Windows SCCM client health, related issues, and remediation activities.
Ability to create customized reports using tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services.
