Mobile Device Testing Engineer

Core Responsibilities
• Develop, document, and revise test plans, procedures, and quality standards for software and hardware, with focus on wireless products and related accessories.
• Manage cross-functional bug reporting and resolution process; perform software upgrades on devices using OEM tools.
• Oversee test sample requirements and inventory; track and ensure samples are upgraded to the latest firmware.
• Validate OEM and test partner results by executing regression test plans and performing ad hoc/random testing.
• Test and certify MRs (maintenance releases/software updates) and Security MRs by executing regression plans and impacted test cases.
• Manage activation and deactivation of test samples.
• Compile test results, collect logs, and prepare engineering reports for OEMs and fix agents.
• Maintain and update issue-tracking/management tools to ensure information is current and shared.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform field testing as required, and monitor logs to reproduce issues.
• Monitor customer-reported issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop test methods to improve customer satisfaction.
• Deploy and manage new test tools as needed.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders, internal development teams, and E2E teams.
• Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams, and with external parties.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.

Required Knowledge & Skills
• Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence.
• Understanding of LTE and 5G RF and Core technologies.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Effective project management skills, with proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong collaboration and coordination skills across matrixed teams.
• Hands-on knowledge of smartphones, Android/iOS operating systems, and mobile wireless telecom technologies (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/Wi-Fi).
• Experience with automation tools (e.g., Spirent, Eggplant) and logging tools (QXDM, QCAT).
• Experience in test planning, feature/functional test execution, and regression testing.
• Background in QA activities: functional, performance, stress testing.
• Ability to identify causes of defects, improve processes, and communicate solutions to management/customers.
• Experience with industry practices for certifying mobile products for MNO/MVNOs.
• Working knowledge of SIM and eSIM technologies.
• Familiarity with iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch) or Android platforms across multiple OEMs.

Education & Experience
• Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent).
• Field of Study: Computer Science, Electronics & Telecommunications, Engineering, or related fields.
• Certifications: Not required.
• Experience:
o 5+ years in product development and/or technology management.
o 3+ years in mobile and/or wireless domain.
