Job Summary:

The Regulatory Reporting Business Analyst is essential for ensuring a large US bank adheres to all relevant regulations and reporting standards. This position is crucial for ensuring the bank’s operational integrity and transparency in the highly regulated financial sector. The analyst’s role includes the accurate preparation, analysis, and submission of various regulatory reports to the appropriate authorities, which helps reduce risks and supports informed decision-making within the organization. 

Key Responsibilities:

Identification of data elements for inventory of applicable reports including FFIEC, FRB, OCC, FINRA SEC etc,

Data Analysis and Management: Analyzing datasets to identify issues, defining data requirements, managing data activities, implementing quality rules, and understanding financial product data flow.
Compliance Assurance: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, staying updated on changes, and demonstrating knowledge of the regulatory environment and specific mandates like CFTC, SEC, and Canadian Trade Reporting.
Collaboration and Communication: Working with other departments to gather data, building relationships with stakeholders, communicating proactively, acting as a business technology liaison, and providing consultation on regulatory reporting applications.
Process Improvement and Automation: Contributing to the enhancement of reporting processes, implementing controls, driving automation, and supporting the implementation of regulatory or system changes.
Stakeholder Management: Partnering with stakeholders in report delivery, managing their involvement in projects, and building consensus.
Project Management: Managing multiple tasks and deadlines, participating in testing, and ensuring timely delivery from vendors.
Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with an advanced degree or certifications preferred.
Minimum years of experience in regulatory reporting, preferably in banking, with senior-level experience on large change programs highly preferred.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, analytical and data validation skills, and proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
Experience with regulatory reporting tools like Axiom or OneSumX, SQL, DAX, and knowledge of financial products and specific reporting requirements like FR Y-9C, FR Y-15 is beneficial.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines are essential.
Desired Skills:
Strong understanding of bank regulations, ability to write SQL code, experience with Alteryx, understanding complex reporting applications, experience with Python/Bigdata, external reporting/internal audit, and financial reporting are preferred.

The ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements and experience in test management and senior Technical Analyst roles on large change programs are also desired.
