Key Responsibilities:

 

Adhere to quality standards, regulatory requirements and company policies

Expertise in IT Infrastructure using ITIL Process (Incident, Service Request, Change, Problem)

Should manage architect tasks and adhere to ITIL and major incident process

Ensure positive customer experience and maintain customer satisfaction by the way of quality on day to day tasks

Responsible for building and maintaining test environment, perform Testing/Auditing/processes as required from time to time

Ensure project deliverables within quality standards and timeline

Strong knowledge on Hardware concepts and technologies such as compute nodes, servers, network, and basic storage system infrastructures

Strong knowledge on Ethernet and TCP/IP networking (e.g. switch management, VLANs, IP addressing and routing)

Deep understanding of data storage protocols, including iSCSI, NFS, and SMB

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of storage tasks

Experience with monitoring tools for storage performance and capacity management

Lead the design and implementation of storage architectures, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability

Establish best practices for data management, backup, and disaster recovery across storage platforms

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

 

Job Description:

 

Design and optimize backup and storage architectures to align with business requirements.

Assess current and future needs, ensuring storage and backup solutions are scalable and flexible.

Standardize solution designs and document best practices.

 

Storage Management:

Map application and business needs to the correct storage solutions.

Manage and optimize the storage systems like NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE, etc., for central storage & for critical applications.

Evaluate and implement additional storage solutions as business needs evolve.

Work with different types of storage e.g. Block, NAS and Object for scalable and distributed data needs.

Knowledge on software-defined storage solutions for flexibility and cost efficiency.

Provide solutions to optimize costs and scalability for Hybrid cloud storage.

Ensure performance, availability, and disaster recovery capabilities meet enterprise standards.

Backup & Recovery Strategy:

Develop a comprehensive vision for backup and recovery strategies.

Oversee the management and enhancement of the backup platform.

Ensure backup policies align with business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.

Evaluate and implement new backup solutions to meet evolving business demands.

Security & Compliance:

Ensure storage and backup solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance standards.

Implement robust data protection and encryption measures.

Support audits and risk assessments related to data storage and backup.

Operational Support & Optimization:

Provide expert guidance to IT operations teams in resolving complex storage and backup-related issues.

Identify and drive automation opportunities to improve efficiency.

Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting for storage systems to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime

Collaborate with vendors and external partners to optimize support and service levels.

Budget:

Take ownership of the budget within the domain, ensuring cost-effective decisions while aligning investments with business priorities and technological advancements

Evaluate and select storage technologies that support our cloud and on premise environments, balancing cost and performance

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

Work with business stakeholders to understand data lifecycle and storage needs.

Keep up to date with emerging technologies in storage and backup solutions.

Provide training and knowledge sharing to internal teams.

 

Soft Skills:

 

Good working knowledge on MS Office (excel, PowerPoint, word, OneNote)

Should have an Enterprise customer handling skills

Able to handle unforeseen situations & high level of acceptance

Can drive HCL’s value and its methodology

 

Other Skills:

 

Should be worked on Production systems

Understanding datacentre environment and Infrastructure components

Working knowledge on any ticket tools like Remedy / ServiceNow

Capable of training the team member and colleague

Should be familiar with ITIL processes

Experience with storage build, installation, migration and upgrades
