Role: Mobile Device Testing Engineer
Location: Philadelphia, PA (Onsite)
Duration: Contract
Must Have Skills:
· Spirent or Eggplant
· IOS and Android
· Mobile Device testing
Core Responsibilities:
· Develop, document, and revise test plans and procedures and quality standards for software and hardware, focused on wireless products and related accessories
· Manage the cross functional bug reporting and resolution process, ability to SW upgrade the devices using OEM tools.
· Manage the test sample requirements and inventory. Ensure the distributed samples are tracked and upgraded to the latest available firmware level
· Validate OEM and test partners test results by executing the regression test plan and perform other adhoc random testing
· Manage activation and deactivation of the test samples • Compile test results data, collect logs and write required engineering reports, to report to OEMs and other fix agents.
· Update issues tracking and management tools to ensure all the information is current and properly shared.
· Troubleshoot related issues and test, maintain, and monitor relevant solutions and logs, Field testing if required to reproduce the issue.
· Monitor customer-reported issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop test methods to improve overall customer satisfaction.
· Deploy new test tools as required.
· Knowledge in JIRA and Confluence.
· Understanding of LTE and 5G RF and Core technologies.
· Must be able to communicate effectively and convincingly with all areas of the company – technical and non-technical – as well as with external parties.
· Collaborate with project stakeholders and internal Development and E2E teams.
· Self-Starter and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience Education Level:
· Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Field of Study – Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications, Engineering or other related fields.
· Years Experience – 5+ years in product development and/or technology management roles, including 3+ years in mobile and/or wireless space
Other Specific skills:
· Strong problem solving and analytical skills, communication (verbal and written) skills, leadership skills, and organizational/documentation skills.
· Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successful delivery of projects on time, in line with budget expectations.
· Excellent collaboration and coordination skills to work across a matrixed team from various internal orgs
· Effective working knowledge of smartphones, Android and/or iOS operating systems (OS), and mobile wireless telecommunications technology, including GSM/WCDMA/LTE/WIFI
· Experience with automation tools like Spirent or Eggplant and basic logging skills with QXDM and QCAT.
· Experience planning, developing, and executing feature test cases and functional test scripts for wireless mobile applications.
· Experience in performing and managing quality assurance activities, including functional and regression testing, performance and stress testing.
· Experience in identifying causes of defects, developing improvement processes, and communicating solutions to management or customers.
· Experience with the industry practices/processes for Certifying mobile products for an MNO or MVNO.
· Working knowledge of iOS platform and familiarity with iOS devices – iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches or Android Platform with experience handling various OEMs.
