Job Title: Citrix Architect
Location: 100% Remote
Contract: 12 Months
Visa: US Citizens only
Must have Citrix Administration Certification
Position Overview:
The State of South Carolina is seeking an Information Systems Architect – Advanced (Citrix Architect) to support a new project implementing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) compliance. This consultant will play a key role in maintaining industry-standard security and operational efficiency within the virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment.
Key Responsibilities:
l Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for Citrix/XenApp environments
l Monitor VDI platforms using tools like NetScaler and ControlUp
l Troubleshoot and support virtual desktop infrastructure, including:
l End-user sessions
l VDI stack and platform health
l Citrix/VMware applications and XenDesktop Broker
l Ensure patching and updates for all managed Citrix platform server systems
l Respond to helpdesk requests related to IT-VDI issues
l Participate in client meetings and act as the technical Subject Matter Expert
l Support deployment of Microsoft core services (AD, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, Group Policy)
l Train and mentor team members on Citrix tools and technologies
Required Skills & Experience:
l 5+ years experience with Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, and XenServer
l Proven expertise with VMWare administration and Microsoft Windows Server environments
l 5+ years experience with Microsoft Windows Servers and Microsoft Windows Infrastructure (AD, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, WSUS, etc.)
l 5+ years of professional experience supporting enterprise Windows environments and Citrix VDI.
l Proficiency in Citrix App Layering and related tools
l Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex issues in a critical environment
l Team-oriented with ability to train peers and document best practices
l Adaptable, self-motivated, and skilled in structured problem-solving
l Experience in workflow analysis and structured infrastructure planning
l Strong technical leadership in complex VDI environments
l Ability to maintain and evolve VDI update processes and documentation
l Capable of addressing technical questions and aligning efforts with business needs
l Effective communication skills (written and oral)
l Citrix Administration Certification required
