Job Title: Senior Apigee Developer

Location: Hybrid- Chicago, IL

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Apigee Developer with expertise in API design, development, and security on Apigee Edge/X/Hybrid. The role involves building scalable, secure APIs, enabling developer onboarding via Developer Portals and Self-Service Portal (SSP) capabilities, and integrating with backend systems while following API governance and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Design, develop, and deploy API proxies on Apigee Edge/X/Hybrid with traffic shaping, mediation, transformation, and security policies.

·       Implement API security with OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys; integrate with IDPs via SSO/SAML.

·       Configure custom and out-of-the-box Apigee policies for request/response handling, error management, and threat protection.

·       Build and maintain Apigee Developer Portals (integrated or Drupal), with API documentation, onboarding workflows, and role-based access.

·       Enable SSP for developer onboarding, app registration, and API key provisioning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS, Engineering, or related field.

·       7+ years in API development/integration; 5+ years in Apigee.

·       Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, SSO, API gateway security.

·       Experience with Apigee Developer Portal customization and publishing.

·       Hands-on with JavaScript, Node.js, Python, or Java for custom policies.

·       Proficient in REST, JSON, XML, HTTP, SOAP.

·       Knowledge of API monetization, analytics, and lifecycle management.

·       Familiarity with DevOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes.
