Title- SAP S4 Hana TM Functional SME
Location- Remote with travel
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Transportation Management (TM) Subject Matter Expert to provide backfill support for our ongoing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in S/4 TM (Sidecar) as well as SAP TM 9.4, with the ability to work in complex environments that already have both systems in place. This is a client-facing role requiring deep functional knowledge, solution design capability, and hands-on configuration skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary SAP TM SME to backfill and support ongoing operations and projects.
- Work with stakeholders to maintain and optimize both S/4 TM (Sidecar) and SAP TM landscapes.
- Handle configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of TM processes including freight order management, transportation planning, charge calculation, and settlement.
- Provide expert-level functional support, issue resolution, and enhancements in the TM domain.
- Collaborate with business teams, SAP COE, and technical teams to ensure seamless integration with ECC/S/4 and other connected systems.
- Document solutions, configuration, and changes as per governance standards.
- Mentor internal teams and ensure knowledge transfer.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of overall SAP TM experience, including at least 2+ years in S/4 TM (Sidecar) environments.
- Proven hands-on experience with SAP TM.
- Strong understanding of both embedded and sidecar deployment models, and integration with ECC/S/4.
- Expertise in core TM functionalities: freight planning & execution, carrier selection, freight settlement, transportation network, and integration with SAP EWM.
- Experience with interface technologies (PI/PO, APIs, IDocs) related to TM.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
