Job Description:
- Develop and Maintain Perl Applications: This includes creating new applications, enhancing existing ones, and ensuring they meet project requirements.
- Collaborate with Teams: Working with other developers, project managers, and stakeholders to understand project needs and deliver solutions.
- Write Clean, Efficient Code: Adhering to coding standards, writing well-documented code, and ensuring code quality.
- Code Reviews: Participating in code reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure code quality and maintainability.
- Database Integration: Integrating Perl applications with databases, potentially including writing SQL queries.
- Testing and Debugging: Thoroughly testing applications to identify and fix bugs.
- Contribute to Code Bases: Working with existing code bases, potentially contributing to their improvement and maintenance.
- Tool Support and Compliance: Ensuring applications are compliant with relevant standards and providing support for tools used in development.
- Project Leadership: In some roles, particularly at a lead level, responsibilities may include mentoring junior developers, providing technical guidance, and leading project teams.
Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Perl: Strong knowledge of Perl programming language, including its syntax, features, and best practices.
- Experience with Databases: Experience with databases commonly used with Perl, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Version Control: Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Testing Frameworks: Familiarity with Perl testing frameworks.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement them effectively.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Leadership Skills (for Lead roles): Ability to mentor, guide, and lead a team of developers.
