A seasoned Test Manager to build, manage, and evolve the testing function within our technology organization.
This role is ideal for an experienced testing professional who combines leadership capabilities, with hands-on technical expertise, including automated testing and Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving highquality software delivery across a complex multi-asset investment management platform, and will be responsible for standing up testing services, including frameworks, tools, teams, and best practices.
The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in financial services, exceptional leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage across multiple platforms, with a focus on the Order Management and Post-Trade Processing functions.
The Contractor requires the following skills, abilities, and background:
• 5+ years of experience in software testing and Quality Assurance (“QA”), with at least 3+ years in a leadership or test management capacity.
• Ability to lead the end-to-end design and execution of the firm’s testing strategy, covering both functional and non-functional testing across applications and platforms.
o Escalate issues and risks accordingly and help drive their resolution.
o Prepare well-structured materials and audience appropriate messaging.
• Establish and maintain scalable test case management processes, ensuring traceability, reusability, and comprehensive coverage of business and technical requirements.
o Maintain comprehensive documentation of testing processes.
• Define and track quality Key Performance Indicators (“KPI”) and Service Level Agreements (“SLA”) and metrics, to ensure the testing team meets or exceeds performance expectations.
o Leverage these indicators to continuously optimize test coverage, execution time, and defect detection effectiveness.
• Build out of a “quality-first” culture across development and business teams, promoting early and automated testing wherever possible.
o Collaborate with product managers, developers, and engineers to define testable acceptance criteria and maintain a high standard of product quality.
o Create an environment of continuous experimentation and learning.
• Partner with the application development teams to create flows, processes, automation, and tooling.
o Architect and implement automated testing frameworks and Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery/Deployment test pipelines, ensuring reliable regression testing across a diverse technology stack.
o Partner with the application teams to define approach for management of test environments.
The Contractor would also benefit from the following skills and background:
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end investment lifecycle across asset classes, including the processes, workflows, and investment platforms/systems used to support the investment business.
o Experience with SimCorp Dimension would be a significant plus.
o Experience with Order/ Execution Management systems: e.g. Charles River Development (CRD).
o Experience with Snowflake.
• Ability to act as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for automated testing tools and techniques, providing guidance to development teams and integrating quality into agile delivery workflows.
o Hands-on expertise in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit/TestNG, Postman, etc.).
o Solid experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous
Delivery/Deployment tools (Gitlab preferred) and integrating test automation into DevOps pipelines.
o Deep understanding of test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, qTest) and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
o Strong knowledge of API testing, performance testing, and security testing concepts.
Evaluate external tools or platforms where appropriate. o Strong understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the testing function remains cutting-edge and effective
